Wedding planners are usually what they say they are, planners. They are experts in all aspects of wedding planning, but how much do wedding planners cost really? A wedding planner is someone who can help you organize your big day. They are a consultant, guide, and agent who help you plan your wedding and keep track of all the details that come along. The job may sound glamorous, but it isn’t without its challenges.
If you are having problems financially planning your wedding, do not despair! There are some alternatives available to you. The most high-priced option is a wedding coordinator. Wedding coordinators are highly trained professionals, often with degrees, who coordinate all aspects of your wedding. A full-service wedding coordinator can cost up to $1,500 for an array of services. Higher-end estimates are closer to $4,500.
Hiring a Wedding Planner
However, hiring a wedding planner can be worthwhile if done correctly. Some people think wedding planners are simply overpriced sponges who do nothing more than managing the details for other couples. This is not the case at all! Many planners are highly skilled individuals with degrees in business or management and many have personal backgrounds in advertising, interior design, marketing, weddings, and other similar fields. These specialists are well-educated and experienced in their particular field, which means you can trust them to do an excellent job with your needs.
While they are extremely knowledgeable and detail-oriented, wedding planners are not “artsy” planners. They are extremely organized and follow a strict budgeting process. When hiring an individual, be sure to ask questions about their work history and references to see how they fare with large and small projects. Ask about their skill level as well so you are certain you are getting someone capable of handling your planning process.
Another thing to look for when hiring wedding planners is whether or not they are licensed and insured. A licensed planner is a great resource for you should anything happen to the planner during the planning process (such as injury, illness, etc.). It’s also a great resource for your wedding planner should anything go wrong with the planner (such as a deadline conflict). If you have questions about whether or not your planner is licensed, ask them about their license and insurance. Also, check with your state’s department of insurance to make sure the planner you are considering is insured.
What other resources are there to help you in your quest to find how much does a wedding planner cost? One is the internet. Look at websites that offer information on wedding planners. This will give you an idea of what your options are, but will not give you a full breakdown of all the costs. Be aware that you may have to pay for shipping, handling and reception fees, depending on the site.
There are also many wedding coordinators, you can hire, whether to take care of everything or to coordinate with you. Most coordinators will charge a fee, although some are willing to work on a per-occurrence basis. There are advantages and disadvantages to each type of coordinator, however. Hiring a wedding coordinator that charges a fixed rate may be the best choice if you are committed to sticking with that person and paying their agreed-upon fees. For those couples who aren’t set on a particular coordinator but know they want a certain amount, a per-occurrence fee may be a better option, especially for those who are on a budget.
Keep these three tips in mind when choosing how much does a wedding planner cost. Wedding planners can help get your dreams off the ground, so if you want to use one, it is worth taking the time to find one within your price range. However, be sure to do your research before hiring a planner, ensuring you understand their services and the costs that come along with them. It can also be worthwhile hiring a wedding planner if you are already having problems coordinating and don’t want to go through the stress of trying to keep your plans moving along as smoothly as possible. The pros and cons of using a planner are similar for all couples, so take the time to evaluate which type would work best for you, your budget, and your wedding style.
Your wedding reception is going to be the highlight of your wedding. It is one of the many special parts of your wedding preparation and is something that will create a lasting memory for everyone that attended. It is important that you look for wedding reception themes that you love or even have one in mind that would work well for the reception. It can be difficult when you are looking for wedding reception accessories for all of the guests to bring. Here are a few wedding reception theme ideas to get you started on the right track.
Themed Wedding Centrepieces: When you are looking for wedding reception centrepieces, think floral and greenery. This is a fantastic option because it is both elegant and beautiful to look at. You can choose to have big themed tablecloths with leaves or even have small tables displayed in the greenery. This will give you lots of greenery to spread on the table and to your guests. Make sure that there is plenty of centrepieces available to go around the table so that people are not fighting over the flowers.
Interactive Wedding Decorations: If you want to add some games to your wedding reception then why not consider having some miniature golf games, card games, kite flyers or even board games? These wedding decorations will help your guests to relax and have a good time while at the party. Use the activities to help you advertise your wedding reception theme. If you are unsure of ideas for activities why not check out some online wedding decorations sites or ask your wedding guests for some suggestions.
Table Setting: Table setting is an important part of wedding venue decorations. Tables usually form one long table at the end of the reception hall. There are usually a lot of guest tables placed along with the tables. These tables often provide extra seating for wedding guests. At the end of these tables, you will want to have a dance floor, buffet line, and other special party features that you can use to make your wedding reception a success.
Party Favors: Party favours can be another way to make your wedding reception unique. Often wedding reception guests will bring home a special favour for their family member or friend who is also a wedding guest. If you are not sure what to use, consider giving your wedding guests a small gift that has their wedding-related information on it. This could be anything from a small photo frame with the date of your wedding or a small bottle opener.
What If I Don’t Want to Use Decorations? If you know that you are going to have a wedding reception without any decor pieces for your wedding reception then you will need to find some decorations that you can incorporate into your decorating plan. Many people choose to add balloons to their tables, place card holders, candles and other unique wedding reception decorations to their tables. However, if your budget does not allow for these types of items you can also find simple decorations that will still look wonderful.
For example, you could use flower petals to fill a glass vase and place it on each table for guests to take as place cards. Another creative wedding reception decoration is to fill a large cardboard box with flowers and place it at the end of each table. You could fill this with candles, place cards, or even balloons. Whatever decorations you choose, you should make sure that they complement your wedding colours.

One of the most important details about your wedding day attire, aside from the dress, is your shoes. Now whether you choose to go pretty vintage such as bridal shoes Melbourne, or sleek chic your shoes pull together your entire outfit. Like the saying says, “Something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue.”… And some new shoes!
You can’t go wrong with the simple white heel that goes with any wedding theme. The best part about this is that there are so many different styles of white heels on the market. You can choose a simple pump, or a sandal style heel. You can go the safe route and choose a wedge heel or go for the wow factor of a stiletto. One thing not to forget if you are buying a new pair is to break them in prior to the wedding, I would suggest at least a week, if not a month in advance.
We love pretty vintage details for your wedding and if you are signing for this theme, why not have your shoes match. Cute little flats with lacey or floral details work perfectly or you can go for a heel with a vintage frill or art deco inspired design.
A Pop of Colour
When your dress is white and your jewellery is white and the flowers are white, sometimes you just need that small pop of colour. What better way to incorporate your favourite colour than to find that perfect set of heels to add some spice to your day. Some brides choose a daring red, while others go with a shade of blue, but whichever way you choose to go, as long as you coordinate with your colour scheme you should come out on top.
Anything that glitters and sparkles is always super fun and special. You can add some sparkly goodness to your wedding outfit with a pair of gold wedges or glittery peep-toe heels.
If you are looking for a simple way to make your day even more special, have your groom write a note to the bride on the bottom of her wedding shoes that she can read right before her walk down the aisle. For further information on how to make your wedding day special contact us.
Kylee and Rob’s wedding was styled with a fun pop of pink and so many little personal touches like their own monogram. They venue of choice was the Stamford Plaza and it was all too easy to have all parts of the wedding day together in the one location! The girls prepared for the day in the bridal suite upstairs, came down to see the boys and all the guests waiting on the lawn by the Brisbane River for the wedding ceremony (we blogged it here), then we had a quick little photo shoot with the bridal party over in the City Botanical Gardens next door… and then of course back to the Stamford Plaza for the reception! Easy Peasy!
As photographers we LOVE to stay for the reception, it’s the part of the day where everyone relaxes and settles in for the night, plus it’s jam packed with lots of special moments with candle wedding centerpieces that you’ll never want to forget like entrances, beautiful speeches, tasty meals, the cake cut and great times on the dance floor. From the reception room at The Stamford you could see out over the river and the lights on the Story Bridge lit up as night fell. Magic!
Here’s how we captured the lovely styling and some of the memorable moments of Kylee and Rob’s wedding.
Beautiful first look and bridal portraits BEFORE the late afternoon wedding ceremony, canapés on the Tuscan Terrace and a lovely marquee reception surrounded by their closest family and friends… lets say thats a perfect day.
